<h1>National Housing Bank Act Section 31: Housing Finance Institutions Must Disclose Deposit Details and Financials to NHB.</h1> Section 31 of the National Housing Bank Act, 1987, as amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2019, empowers the National Housing Bank to require housing finance institutions that accept deposits to provide specific information regarding those deposits. These institutions must furnish statements, information, or particulars about the deposits, including their amount, purpose, duration, interest rates, and terms, as directed by the National Housing Bank. Additionally, such institutions may be required to send their annual balance-sheet and profit and loss account to depositors holding deposits above a specified amount.
