Regulation 71A defines 'frequently traded shares' based on 10% turnover in the past 12 months.
Regulation 71A of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2009, defines 'frequently traded shares' as shares of an issuer with a traded turnover of at least ten percent of the total number of shares of that class on any stock exchange in the twelve months preceding the relevant date. If the share capital of a class is not consistent during this period, the weighted average number of shares will represent the total number. This provision was inserted by an amendment effective from August 25, 2012.
