Excise Act Rules Must Be Published and Reviewed by Parliament; Subject to Modification or Annulment Under Section Requirements.
All rules and notifications under the Central Excise Act, 1944, must be published in the Official Gazette. Rules made and notifications issued under specific sections, along with certain orders, must be presented to both Houses of Parliament for a total of thirty days. During this period, Parliament may modify or annul them. If both Houses agree on changes or annulment, the rule, notification, or order will be effective only in its modified form or not at all. Such modifications or annulments do not affect the validity of actions previously taken under the original rule, notification, or order.
