Section 9B: Convicted individuals' details may be published at their expense after appeal period under Central Excise Act.
Under Section 9B of the Central Excise Act, 1944, if a person is convicted for violating its provisions, the court may publish the individual's name, place of business or residence, contravention details, and conviction information. This publication is at the convicted person's expense and can be done in newspapers or other means as directed by the court. Such publication is delayed until the appeal period expires without an appeal or until any appeal is resolved. The publication costs are recoverable from the convicted individual as if they were a court-imposed fine.
