Judicial proceeding designation makes Settlement Commission proceedings subject to offences for false evidence and obstruction of justice. Proceedings before the Settlement Commission are deemed to be judicial proceedings for the purposes of offences relating to false evidence and related conduct under the penal code, and from the specified commencement date the same deeming effect applies mutatis mutandis to the Interim Board.
