Amendment of Article 329 removes reference to Article 329 A and deletes the qualifying phrase from the constitutional provision. Amendment of Article 329 by the Constitution (Forty Fourth Amendment) Act, 1978 omits the words, figures and letter 'but subject to the provisions of Article 329 A' from the opening portion of Article 329; the amendment took effect by notification, commencing on 19 June 1979.
