<h1>1978 Amendment Grants High Courts Supervision Over All Courts, Tribunals; Article 227 Modified, Clause (5) Removed</h1> The Constitution (44th Amendment) Act, 1978, modifies Article 227 of the Constitution. It replaces clause (1) with a provision granting every High Court superintendence over all courts and tribunals within its jurisdiction. Additionally, clause (5) of Article 227 is omitted. This amendment came into effect on June 19, 1979.
