of <h1>Finance Act 2018 amends Customs Act Section 46: Electronic submissions, pre-arrival filing, and importer responsibility enhanced.</h1> The Finance Act, 2018 amends Section 46 of the Customs Act, introducing changes to the submission of customs documentation. Sub-section (1) now requires submissions to be made electronically via the customs automated system and in a prescribed form and manner. Sub-section (3) allows submissions up to thirty days prior. Sub-section (4) mandates additional prescribed documents for imported goods. A new sub-section (4A) requires importers to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of information and documents, as well as compliance with relevant restrictions or prohibitions under current laws.
