The amendment introduced a proviso in sub-section (1), increasing the tax rate on dividends referred to in sub-clause (e) of clause (22) of section 2 from fifteen percent to thirty percent. Additionally, a proviso was added to sub-section (1B), stating that this sub-section does not apply to the dividends mentioned in the same sub-clause.
