          <h1>Amendment to Section 8AC removes a transitional phrase, making the omission effective retrospectively.</h1> The Finance Act, 2018 amends section 8AC(2) of the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954 by omitting the words, brackets and figures referring to the position 'before the commencement of the Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament (Amendment) Act, 2006', and declares that those words shall be deemed to have been omitted with effect from the 15th day of September, 2006.
