Contravention classification replaces offence, expanding company liability to breaches of the Act and subordinate rules. Section 24 is amended to substitute the marginal heading and to replace references to 'an offence' and 'an offence under this Act' with 'a contravention of any of the provisions of this Act or any rule, regulation, direction or order made thereunder', and to substitute the word 'offence' with 'contravention' wherever it occurs.
