Regulation 7 defines company law proceedings' jurisdiction by location of registered office; amended in 1992 and 2000.
Regulation 7 of the Company Law Board Regulations, 1991, outlines the jurisdiction of the Benches for company law proceedings. Proceedings, except those before the Principal Bench, are to be initiated in the Bench where the company's registered office is located. The Benches are situated in the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Regions, with sittings typically in New Delhi, Madras, Calcutta, and Bombay, respectively. However, Benches may choose to hold sessions in other cities within or outside their region with the parties' consent. Amendments in 1992 and 2000 updated these provisions.
