This period can be extended by another 21 days if justified. The adjudicating officer must also serve their response to the appellant. The Regional Director will notify the parties of the hearing date, set at least 30 days after notification. The Director may pass orders, including adjournments, and can dispose of the appeal ex-parte if parties fail to appear. Orders must be signed, dated, and communicated to involved parties and the Central Government.
