of <h1>SEBI rules governing registrars and share transfer agents: 1993 regulations notified, later repealed by 2025 update</h1> These regulations are titled the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents) Regulations, 1993. They were made by the securities regulator under the enabling provision of the governing securities statute, with prior approval of the central government. The regulations take effect from the date they are published in the Official Gazette. The provision also notes that the 1993 regulations have been repealed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Registrars to an Issue and Share Transfer Agents) Regulations, 2025.
