of <h1>Section 441 Amendment: Monetary limit raised to 25 lakh rupees; certain offences now non-compoundable under the Act.</h1> Section 441 of the principal Act is amended as follows: In sub-section (1), clause (b), the monetary limit is increased from five lakh rupees to twenty-five lakh rupees. Sub-section (6) is replaced to specify that, despite the Code of Criminal Procedure, any offence under this Act punishable by imprisonment only, or by imprisonment and fine, is not compoundable.
