<h1>Amendment to Section 157: Increased Penalties for Companies and Officers Not Furnishing Director Identification Numbers.</h1> Section 157 of the principal Act has been amended to revise the penalties for companies failing to furnish a Director Identification Number. A company that does not comply will incur a penalty of twenty-five thousand rupees, with an additional penalty of one hundred rupees per day for continued non-compliance, capped at one lakh rupees. Additionally, every defaulting officer of the company will face the same penalties: a minimum of twenty-five thousand rupees and one hundred rupees per day for ongoing failure, also capped at one lakh rupees.
