of <h1>Section 137 Amended: Fines Replaced with Penalties; New Daily Penalty for Non-Compliance Introduced.</h1> Section 137 of the principal Act is amended in sub-section (3) to replace the phrase 'punishable with fine' with 'liable to a penalty.' Additionally, the provision for imprisonment and fines up to five lakh rupees is revised to impose a penalty of one lakh rupees. In cases of ongoing non-compliance, an additional penalty of one hundred rupees per day is applicable, with a maximum limit of five lakh rupees.
