Registrar power to verify registered office enables removal proceedings if a company is not carrying on business. The amendment empowers the Registrar, on reasonable cause to believe a company is not carrying on business, to cause a physical verification of the registered office in a prescribed manner and, if default in complying with the earlier sub section is found, to initiate action for removal of the company's name from the register under Chapter XVIII, without prejudice to the adjacent provision.
