Merchant Bankers: Certificate Process Under Regulation 8 of SEBI Regulations 1992, Validity, and Fee Details
Regulation 8 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Merchant Bankers) Regulations, 1992, outlines the process for granting a certificate of registration to merchant bankers. Once the Board determines an applicant's eligibility, a certificate is issued in Form B, which remains valid unless suspended or canceled. Merchant bankers with existing certificates prior to the 2016 amendment are considered to have been granted registration under the updated regulation. Upon receiving the certificate, the merchant banker must pay the prescribed fee as per Schedule II of these regulations.
