          <h1>Power to compound contravention allows authorised enforcement officers to accept applications and bar further proceedings upon compounding.</h1> Power to compound contravention authorises the Director of Enforcement or other authorised officers to accept an application to compound a contravention under section 13 within a prescribed statutory period and, when a contravention is compounded under the prescribed procedure, bars initiation or continuation of any proceeding in respect of that compounded contravention.
