        Power to compound contravention allows authorised enforcement officers to accept applications and bar further proceedings upon compounding. Power to compound contravention authorises the Director of Enforcement or other authorised officers to accept an application to compound a contravention under section 13 within a prescribed statutory period and, when a contravention is compounded under the prescribed procedure, bars initiation or continuation of any proceeding in respect of that compounded contravention.
