of <h1>Monetary limits in Foreign Exchange Compounding Rules increased, Rule 4, Sub-rule (1) updated with new thresholds.</h1> The Foreign Exchange (Compounding Proceedings) (Amendment) Rules, 2008, effective from their publication date, amend the Foreign Exchange (Compounding Proceedings) Rules, 2000. The amendments specifically alter the monetary limits in Rule 4, Sub-rule (1). Clause (a) changes 'five lakhs' to 'ten lakhs'; clause (b) changes 'five lakhs' and 'twenty lakhs' to 'ten lakhs' and 'forty lakhs' respectively; clause (c) changes 'twenty lakhs' and 'fifty lakhs' to 'forty lakhs' and 'hundred lakhs' respectively; and clause (d) changes 'fifty lakhs' to 'one hundred lakhs.'
