Empowerment of officers: Central Government may authorise other officers to exercise Enforcement powers under the Act with conditions. The Central Government may, by order and subject to conditions and limitations, authorise specified customs, central excise, police or other central or state officers to exercise the powers and discharge duties of the Director of Enforcement or other Enforcement officers under the Act; such officers shall exercise like powers as are conferred on income-tax authorities under the Income-tax Act, subject to imposed conditions and limitations.
