of <h1>Companies Act Amended: Section 247 Now Imposes Fixed Penalty of 50,000 Instead of Variable Fine Range.</h1> Section 247 of the principal Act has been amended by the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020. In sub-section (3), the previous provision imposing a fine ranging from twenty-five thousand to one lakh rupees has been replaced. The new provision stipulates a fixed penalty of fifty thousand rupees.
