of <h1>Penalty Changes in Section 64: Fine Reduced to 500 Rupees, New Maximums for Companies and Officers Specified.</h1> Section 64 of the principal Act has been amended in sub-section (2) by changing the penalty amounts. The fine of 'one thousand rupees' is now 'five hundred rupees.' Additionally, instead of 'or five lakh rupees whichever is less,' the text now specifies 'subject to a maximum of five lakh rupees in case of a company and one lakh rupees in case of an officer who is in default.'
