Imprisonment Removed in Section 68 Amendment; Only Monetary Penalty of Three Lakh Rupees Now Applicable
Section 68 of the principal Act is amended by modifying sub-section (11). The amendment removes the provision for imprisonment, which could previously extend to three years. Additionally, the penalty is revised by replacing the phrase 'three lakh rupees, or with both' with 'three lakh rupees,' thereby eliminating the possibility of both imprisonment and a fine, leaving only the monetary penalty.
