Penalty enhancement for related-party transactions replaces imprisonment and lower fines with higher fixed monetary penalties.

Amendment replaces the prior imprisonment-and-fine or lower-fine sanctions in section 188(5) with higher fixed monetary penalties: sub clause (i) substitutes the earlier imprisonment-or-range-of-fine sanction with a single increased penalty, and sub clause (ii) substitutes the earlier lower fine with a higher fixed penalty, thereby shifting penalties toward enhanced monetary sanctions for the specified contraventions.
