Persons deemed public servants extends IPC public servant status to those discharging functions under the Act. Persons performing functions under the Goa Goods and Services Tax Act are statutorily deemed to be public servants within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code; the deeming clause attaches public servant character to all persons discharging duties under the Act and subjects them to the legal consequences and offences applicable to public servants under the IPC.
