of <h1>Granite EOUs can import duty-free, transfer goods to quarries, but must process and export quarried granite.</h1> The 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) Scheme for granite sector units allows EOUs to import or procure specific items duty-free under exemption notifications 52/2003-Customs and 22/2003-CE. These units can transfer capital goods and inputs to quarries with prior notice to customs authorities for granite quarrying. Quarried granite must be returned to EOUs for processing and export; it cannot be exported in raw form or sold domestically. However, it can be supplied to other granite processing EOUs without duty. This scheme is governed by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) guidelines.
