Payment of duty: timing, PLA and Cenvat modes, and loss of monthly payment facility plus interest and penalties. Duty on removals must be paid according to prescribed monthly or quarterly schedules, with March subject to a year end cutoff. Payment is by debit to Personal Ledger Account or by utilizing Cenvat Credit, via bank challan, demand draft, cheque or e payment. Late payment attracts interest from the due date and the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner may forfeit the monthly payment facility, requiring payment on removal and restricting payment to PLA; continued removals without payment may result in confiscation and penalties.
