of <h1>Amendment to Central Excise Act: Section 5A now includes rules on notification publication and effective dates.</h1> In the Central Excise Act, section 5A is amended to include two new sub-sections. Sub-section (5) mandates that notifications issued under sub-section (1) take effect on the date of issue unless specified otherwise, and must be published and available for sale by the Directorate of Publicity and Public Relations on the same day. Sub-section (6) states that if a notification becomes effective after its issue date, it must still be published and available for sale by the Directorate on or before its effective date.
