Finance Act 1998 Updates Excise Duty Rates for Specific Goods in Fifth Schedule Amendments

The Fifth Schedule of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1998, amends the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act by updating the excise duty rates for various sub-headings. For sub-headings 2403.11 to 2403.19, the rates are revised to Rs. 32, Rs. 118, Rs. 176, Rs. 288, Rs. 384, and Rs. 470 per thousand, respectively. Additionally, for sub-headings 5902.10, 5902.20, and 5902.90, the rate is changed to Rs. 10 per kg. These amendments adjust the excise duties applicable to specified goods of special importance.
