Excise duty on medicinal and toilet preparations set as an ad valorem rate under amended Schedule entry. The Schedule to the Medicinal and Toilet Preparations (Excise Duties) Act, 1955 is amended by substituting, for item No. 4 in the third column, the entry 'fifty percent ad valorem', thereby prescribing an ad valorem duty rate for that Schedule item under the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1998.
