<h1>Amendment to Customs Act: Notifications Now Effective on Issue Date, Must Be Published and Available for Sale.</h1> Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962, has been amended to include new sub-sections (4) and (5). Sub-section (4) mandates that any notification issued under sub-section (1) will take effect on the date of its issue by the Central Government and must be published and made available for sale by the Directorate of Publicity and Public Relations in New Delhi. Sub-section (5) specifies that if a notification is set to take effect on a later date than its issue, it must still be published and available for sale by the Directorate by or before its effective date.
