of <h1>Income-tax Act Section 80P Amended: Thresholds Raised to 100,000 and 50,000 Effective April 1, 1999.</h1> Section 80P of the Income-tax Act was amended by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1998, effective April 1, 1999. In sub-section (2), clause (c), sub-clause (i) increased the threshold from forty thousand rupees to one hundred thousand rupees. Sub-clause (ii) raised the amount from twenty thousand rupees to fifty thousand rupees.
