<h1>Bankers to appoint compliance officers to ensure adherence to SEBI regulations and address investor grievances.</h1> Every banker to an issue is required to appoint a compliance officer responsible for ensuring adherence to the Act, rules, regulations, notifications, guidelines, and instructions issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India or the Central Government. The compliance officer must also address investors' grievances and report any non-compliance directly and independently to the Board. This requirement was introduced by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Investment Advise by Intermediaries) (Amendment) Regulations, 2001, effective from May 29, 2001.
