of <h1>Government can require validated documents and devices on conveyances carrying high-value consignments; officers may demand inspection</h1> The Government may require the person in charge of a conveyance carrying consignments above a prescribed value to carry prescribed documents and devices, with those documents validated in a prescribed manner. A proper officer intercepting such a conveyance may demand production of the required documents and devices and inspect the goods; the person in charge is obliged to produce the documents, devices and permit inspection. Noncompliance may expose the person in charge to consequences provided by law.
