Regulation 20: SEBI Can Inspect Debenture Trustees Without Notice for Investor or Public Interest
Regulation 20 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Debenture Trustees) Regulations, 1993, outlines the procedure for inspection. Before conducting an inspection, the Board must provide reasonable notice to the debenture trustee. However, if the Board deems it necessary for investor or public interest, it can order an inspection without prior notice. Once authorized, the inspecting authority will carry out the inspection, and the debenture trustee must fulfill obligations as specified in regulation 21.
