of <h1>Rule 6 Ensures Confidentiality in India-ASEAN Trade Agreement, Requires Non-Confidential Summaries or Justifications for Sensitive Data</h1> Rule 6 of the India-ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (Safeguard Measures) Rules, 2016 addresses the handling of confidential information. It mandates that any information deemed confidential or provided as such must be protected by the Director General and not disclosed without authorization. Parties providing confidential information may be required to submit a non-confidential summary. If summarization is deemed impossible, a justification must be provided. The Director General has the authority to disregard confidentiality requests if they are unjustified or if the information provider refuses to allow disclosure, unless the information's accuracy is independently verified.
