Rule 6 - Confidential information

Confidential information protection may be denied if confidentiality is unwarranted and undisclosable material can be disregarded without verification.

Confidential information supplied in safeguard proceedings will be protected from disclosure without supplier authorisation; the Director General may require a non-confidential summary or reasons why summarisation is impossible. The Director General may also disregard information if confidentiality is unjustified or the supplier refuses public or summary disclosure, unless the supplier demonstrates the information's correctness from appropriate sources.
