          <h1>Safeguard measures: Director General must investigate imports and recommend measures to prevent or remedy serious injury.</h1> The Director General must investigate increased imports from ASEAN that cause or threaten serious injury to domestic industry, identify the liable good, submit findings to the Central Government, recommend safeguard measures adequate to prevent or remedy serious injury and to facilitate adjustment, recommend the duration of measures with progressive liberalisation where duration exceeds one year, and review the need for continuation of any safeguard measure.
