of <h1>Director General Duties: Investigate Import Injuries, Recommend Safeguards, Report to Government Under India-ASEAN Rules, 2016.</h1> The Director General is tasked with several duties under the India-ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (Safeguard Measures) Rules, 2016. These include investigating the presence or threat of serious injury to domestic industries due to increased imports, identifying goods subject to safeguard measures, and submitting findings to the Central Government. The Director General must also recommend appropriate safeguard measures, their duration, and any necessary progressive liberalization if the measures exceed one year. Additionally, the Director General is responsible for reviewing the need for the continuation of these measures.
