<h1>Director General Can Review and Recommend Continuation or Withdrawal of Safeguard Measures under Rule 18 of Trade Agreement.</h1> Rule 18 of the India-ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (Safeguard Measures) Rules, 2016, allows the Director General to review the necessity of continuing a safeguard measure. If the Director General finds that the measure is essential to prevent or remedy serious injury and that the industry is adjusting positively, they may recommend its continuation to the Central Government. Conversely, if there is no justification for its continuation, they may recommend its withdrawal. The review process follows the provisions of rules 4, 5, 6, and 10, applied as necessary.
