Appointment of Director General (Specific Safeguard) empowers central government to notify senior officer and provide staff. The Central Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint a Director General (Specific Safeguard), an officer not below the rank of Joint Secretary or such other officer as it thinks fit, for the purposes of these rules; the Central Government may provide the Director General with such other persons and facilities as it deems fit.
