Market disruption investigations can lead to safeguard duty recommendations and periodic reviews under transitional product-specific rules. The Director General must investigate existence of market disruption or its threat from increased imports, identify the article liable for safeguard duty, submit provisional or final findings to the Central Government regarding imports from the People's Republic of China, recommend the duty amount and duration necessary to remove the disruption, and review the need for continuance of such safeguard duty.
