<h1>RBI's 2000 Regulations on Foreign Securities for Non-Residents Superseded by FEMA 20(R) in 2017.</h1> The Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident Outside India) Regulations, 2000, issued by the Reserve Bank of India, were established under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. These regulations aim to prohibit, restrict, or regulate the transfer or issuance of securities by individuals residing outside India. Initially notified on May 3, 2000, and published in the Official Gazette on May 8, 2000, these regulations were later superseded by Notification No. FEMA 20(R)/2017-RB on November 7, 2017.
