FIIs Can Invest in 'To Be Listed' Debt Securities, Must Ensure Listing Within 15 Days or Redeem.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) are now permitted to invest in 'to be listed' debt securities, such as Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) and bonds, provided these securities are listed within 15 days of investment. If the listing does not occur within this timeframe, FIIs must sell the securities or the issuer must redeem them. This amendment aligns with SEBI's revised investment limit allocations and will be incorporated into the Foreign Exchange Management Regulations. Authorized Dealer Category-I banks are instructed to inform their clients of these changes.
