Summary: Expired e way bills require stopping movement and corrective documentation tailored to whether goods are at origin or already in transit. If goods have not moved, cancel within the portal window and re generate an e way bill, or issue a fresh invoice or delivery challan and then generate a new e way bill; retain proof of non movement. If goods are in transit, attempt extension via the transporter's login; if extension is unavailable, stop, prepare a delivery challan from the current location, generate a new e way bill, and preserve the expired bill, challan, new bill and transit evidence.

Summary: Section 169 prescribes multiple modes for serving show cause notices, including portal upload, post, courier, e-mail, publication and affixation; upload alone may be insufficient if it produces no response. Where portal notices go unanswered, the issuing officer must explore and attempt other prescribed modes-preferably speed post-and afford the taxpayer a real opportunity to reply with supporting documents and a personal hearing to satisfy the principle of natural justice.

Summary: The requirement of passing reasoned orders is a constitutional and procedural imperative in GST adjudication: orders affecting taxpayer rights must explain relevant facts, legal reasoning and conclusions to enable understanding, challenge and review. Reasoned orders prevent mechanical or extraneous discretion, ensure decisions rest on relevant evidence and law, create auditable records for review, and are necessary across assessments, registration cancellations, detention and penalty decisions within the GST framework.

Summary: Tax structuring of M&A in India requires choosing among share purchase, slump sale, NCLT approved merger, share swap and asset purchase based on distinct tax rules and regulatory consequences. NCLT sanctioned amalgamations provide statutory mechanisms for capital gains exemptions and preservation of tax attributes such as carry forward of losses, enabling tax neutral transfers of licences and assets. By contrast, slump sales attract special net worth capital gains treatment and possible higher tax burdens, while asset purchases and share acquisitions have asset wise or share wise capital gains and differing indirect tax and regulatory implications.

Summary: The Gujarat High Court found that departmental officers who issued summonses or an arrest memo need not be cross-examined where adjudication is based solely on documentary material made available to the assessee; the co-noticee's cross-examination opportunity was not availed; reliance on precedent supports denying oral testing when no testimonial evidence underpins the decision; and the assessee may pursue statutory and appellate remedies under the GST framework to challenge documentary conclusions.

Summary: NFRA and IICA launched a four-month certification program for Independent Directors and Audit Committee Members to enhance governance and audit quality. The course, under an existing MoU, includes an optional foundational module for non-finance professionals on accounting and financial analysis, and a mandatory module covering internal controls, audits, related party transactions, fraud risk management, ESG and sustainability reporting, with case studies and practical training. The program advances NFRA's role in promoting awareness of accounting and auditing standards and auditors' responsibilities through education and training.
Summary: Evaluation under PM GatiShakti principles ensured seven projects across rail, road, logistics and textiles conform to integrated multimodal infrastructure, last mile connectivity and whole of government coordination. Rail projects propose line additions to increase passenger and freight capacity, with recommended station upgrades and accessibility measures. Road widening and an MMLP aim to strengthen freight corridors and multimodal cargo handling. PM MITRA textile parks will provide end to end textile infrastructure, treatment facilities, training and social amenities to enhance regional competitiveness and employment.
Summary: Bajaj Housing Finance's limited period home loan promotion for new borrowers offers reduced interest rates, large loan limits, long tenures, and fast digital processing with typical disbursal within 48 hours after approval. The product includes balance transfer and top up options, personalised repayment plans for under construction properties, an option for dual rate or benchmark linked loans, and zero prepayment charges on floating rate loans. Eligibility covers salaried and self employed Indian citizens with specified age at maturity ranges and standard KYC, income and property documentation.
Summary: Softer US inflation and weaker jobs indicators have raised expectations of near-term easing of US monetary policy, driving equity futures and record benchmark levels. The market rally is supported by an extended US-China trade truce and specific corporate transactions and earnings signals that have prompted sectoral rotations. Global indices moved in line with regional policy actions and central-bank decisions, while commodities and currency rates adjusted modestly with changing risk sentiment.
Summary: Higher US import tariffs on Indian goods are assessed as unlikely to materially affect India's economic growth or its sovereign rating outlook due to low export-to-GDP exposure to the US, tariff exemptions for key export sectors, and inward investment driven primarily by domestic demand rather than US-bound exports.
Summary: US tariff measures will cause a short term shock concentrated in specific export sectors but are expected to ease within a quarter or two; policymakers are engaging affected industries while the government provides research funding and urges the private sector to increase investment. The advisor highlighted tight credit and liquidity as drivers of the recent growth slowdown, and identified strategic priorities-diversifying sources of critical minerals, strengthening supply chains, cautious AI adoption to manage labour displacement, and creating substantial jobs-calling on the private sector to plan beyond the next quarter with public policy as facilitator.
Summary: The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on carbon intensive imports risks revenue outflows and reduced household consumption in India, concentrated in iron and steel, aluminium, cement and fertilisers. A domestic carbon tax that retains revenue domestically largely offsets those losses by funding targeted household compensation, green subsidies and industrial decarbonisation. A hybrid approach halves rates and splits revenue retention, while the CBAM only scenario yields the largest external revenue transfer and welfare impact.
Summary: IIM Calcutta's eight-month Advanced Programme in Smart Manufacturing Leadership, offered with VCNow Executive Education, targets senior manufacturing and operations professionals with at least eight years' experience, delivered via weekly online sessions plus a four-day campus immersion. The curriculum combines Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, AI, robotics, digital twins, cloud) with data-centric competencies (data-driven manufacturing, cybersecurity, data governance, system modelling) and strategic modules (supply chain, change management, leadership) using experiential methods and industry engagement to enable digital transformation and operational excellence.
Summary: slice SFB opened a UPI-first physical branch in Gurugram embedding UPI integration across services and deploying UPI-powered ATMs and self-service kiosks to enable instant, accountless onboarding and transactions. Post-merger with North East Small Finance Bank, slice operates as a full-stack bank, building core banking, payment infrastructure and ATM networks to lower delivery costs and extend a distributed, technology-enabled banking network into urban and semi-urban markets.
Summary: Enforcement authorities recorded a statement from a former sportsperson under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in an investigation of alleged illegal online betting apps, probing endorsements, fees received and communications with the platform, amid parallel actions including questioning of digital intermediaries and multi-state searches; regulatory measures note that online money gaming suppliers fall under the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act and intermediaries can be directed to block platforms under the Information Technology Act, while States retain primary enforcement responsibility under the Seventh Schedule.
Summary: Crisil forecasts a lower average headline inflation for the fiscal year driven by healthy agricultural production that will limit food inflation and by subdued crude oil prices constraining non-food inflation. Assuming geopolitical stability, the agency expects further monetary policy easing, including another round of repo rate cuts, citing that prior cumulative easing and adequate liquidity have ensured swift transmission and bolstered household purchasing power.
Summary: The Supreme Court observed that increasing the list of acceptable documents from seven to eleven for the Special Intensive Revision is inclusionary, because electors may submit any one document; petitioners argued exclusionary effects from non acceptance of Aadhaar and limited coverage of some documents, but the bench noted lists are prepared after inter departmental feedback to maximise coverage and that choices about inclusion, exclusion and evidentiary weight rest within the Election Commission's remit.
Summary: Enforcement actions under PMLA feature multiple ED searches, summonses, and questioning tied to alleged money laundering from illegal online betting, a realty group fraud probe involving investor funds, and an inquiry into proceeds from alleged illegal iron ore exports; these represent investigative measures (search, seizure, and questioning) rather than final adjudicative determinations.
Summary: Extension of a temporary tariff pause between China and the United States by 90 days reduced trade policy uncertainty and eased pressure on Asia centric supply chains. The Trump administration's confirmation of a flat 15 per cent US import duty affected investor demand for exporter sectors, while a moderation in US consumer price inflation strengthened expectations of potential Federal Reserve interest rate cuts, jointly driving a regional equity rally.
Summary: A money laundering investigation under the PMLA targets an Uttar Pradesh realty group after numerous FIRs and a UP RERA forensic audit identifying the proceeds of crime at Rs 248 crore; coordinated searches aim to collect evidence and trace assets for attachment given promoters are reported absconding.
