of <h1>SEBI exempts foreign portfolio investors in government securities from some regulatory requirements under FPIs Regulations 2019</h1> The Securities and Exchange Board of India has amended the Foreign Portfolio Investors Regulations, 2019, introducing provisions that exempt foreign portfolio investors who invest exclusively in Government Securities from certain regulatory requirements specified in regulations 4 and 22. These exemptions apply subject to conditions prescribed by the Board and affect clauses related to eligibility and operational obligations. The amendments will take effect 180 days after publication in the Official Gazette.
