Section 29 of Limitation Act: Special Law Limits Overrule, Contract Act Unaffected, Excludes Marriage, Divorce, Easements Laws.
Section 29 of the Limitation Act, 1963, outlines savings provisions. It states that the Act does not impact Section 25 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If a special or local law prescribes a different limitation period for suits, appeals, or applications, Section 3 of the Limitation Act applies as if that period were in the Schedule. Sections 4 to 24 apply unless expressly excluded by such laws. The Act does not apply to proceedings under marriage and divorce laws. Sections 25, 26, and the definition of 'easement' do not apply where the Indian Easements Act, 1882, is in force.
