of <h1>Income-tax Act Section 80JJA Amended: Full Profit Deductions for Bio-businesses Over Five Years Effective April 2000.</h1> Section 80JJA of the Income-tax Act is amended, effective April 1, 2000. The amendment allows deductions for businesses producing bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, or other biological agents, in addition to bio-gas. The deduction is revised to cover the entire profits and gains for five consecutive assessment years, starting from the assessment year relevant to when the business begins, replacing the earlier limit of the whole income or five lakh rupees, whichever was less.
