of <h1>Amendment to Income-tax Act: Clause (b) of Section 80HHA updated retroactively from April 1, 1978, defining small-scale industries.</h1> Section 80HHA of the Income-tax Act has been amended by the Finance Act, 1999. In the Explanation, clause (b) has been replaced and is retroactively effective from April 1, 1978. The new clause specifies that an industrial undertaking will be considered a small-scale industrial undertaking if, on the last day of the previous year, it is recognized as such under section 11B of the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951.
