<h1>SEBI Gains Broad Powers to Audit, Investigate, and Assess Financial Entities for Enhanced Investor Protection Under Regulatory Framework</h1> The regulation empowers the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to appoint a qualified auditor to inspect books of account or investigate affairs of special purpose distinct entities, servicers, or agents. The auditor has investigative powers similar to an inspecting authority. SEBI can also appoint a valuer to assess asset pools for investor protection. Expenses for such audits or valuations are to be borne by the originator, trustee, or specified entities as determined by the Board.
